Buckland Monochorum, Yelverton, Devon
Described by Toby Buckland as ‘a plantsman’s paradise’ the 10 acre garden includes varied planting styles including the Summer Garden, which is planted in a new naturalistic style. Sweeping banks of grasses and plants that ebb and flow as if they happened by accident are planned, divided, maintained and ruthlessly managed. It is a blend of shoulder high grasses and perennials that tempt every visitor to ‘swoosh’ through them.
In a recent edition of BBC’s Gardeners’ World Carol Kline visted ‘The Garden House’, and extolled the wonderful use of blue in the garden. The RHS magazine ‘The Garden’, also featured a piece urging us to “enjoy these exquisite gardens”.
