After an enforced break of two years our Summer Show on Saturday September 3rd (the same day as the amazing Hat Festival) was a great success .
Outside on East Street the proceeds from the plant fair were donated to The Living Tree charity on its 10th anniversary. Inside the hall, dahlias the size of dinner plates, roses with heady perfumes, luscious loganberries, pungent onions, delicious scones and enormous pumpkins were all on show with their proud producers enjoying the return of this friendly competition.
The event was organised by a small and dedicated team led by club President Monique Pasche who compered the cup presentation made by Clive Groves, club patron.
Over-all show winners were the evergreen Stephen Tribe with an incomparable array of vegetables with runner up and a welcome new member Vic Barnard whose flowers excelled.
Club Chair Margaret Genender voiced the club’s appreciation and thanks to Monique Pasche who is handing over the organising role to a new team ready for the spring 2023 show.
