New Year, New Trees, New Hope

Three tree saplings per household plus canes, are being offered free of charge to people living in Bridport. The varieties available in February are: Silver Birch, Downy Birch, Green Beech, Rowan, Bird Cherry, Goat Willow, Hawthorn, Dogwood, Grey Willow, Alder and Hornbeam. Our fund-raising Christmas Tree

A small group of members have been busy decorating the Club’s allocated tree in the Bridport United Church’s Christmas Tree Festival. We are again collecting for Perennial, the only charity which supports those working in Horticulture; many of whom have been hard hit in the pandemic due to furlough, jobs being lost, etc. Our theme is ‘Waste not, Want not’. Millennium Green Cheque Presentation

On a brisk October morning a group of garden volunteers from Friends of Millennium Green and BDGC met together to hand over a donation of £100 from the Garden Club. Visit to Oudolf Field

In September 2021 the Club visited Oudolf Field designed by Piet Oudolf who has designed some of the most widely acclaimed gardens of this century and is still designing in his 70s (so hope for us all). Opened in 2014 Piet Oudolf Field, is a wonderful example of his work showcasing his masterly use of perennials and grasses. An inspiration to all gardeners and much appreciated by the members who visited it.
