Three tree saplings per household plus canes, are being offered free of charge to people living in Bridport. The varieties available in February are: Silver Birch, Downy Birch, Green Beech, Rowan, Bird Cherry, Goat Willow, Hawthorn, Dogwood, Grey Willow, Alder and Hornbeam. A small group of members have been busy decorating the Club’s allocated tree in the Bridport United Church’s Christmas Tree Festival. We are again collecting for Perennial, the only charity which supports those working in Horticulture; many of whom have been hard hit in the pandemic due to furlough, jobs being lost, etc. Our theme is ‘Waste not, Want not’. On a brisk October morning a group of garden volunteers from Friends of Millennium Green and BDGC met together to hand over a donation of £100 from the Garden Club.
