The Bridport & District Gardening Club have been invited by The Friends of Millennium Green to assist in the maintenance of the flower beds around the Council Offices.    They meet for a 2 hour session at 10am on Tuesdays. Bring gloves, a fork, & enthusiasm and join a small team (a shorter period is also acceptable].    Let’s keep Bridport Blooming !

Garden Clubs meet – Digitally

Meetings go Digital

In February 2021 we were able to meet for the first time in a year – on line –  to view and hear a talk entitled Delightful,  Delovely , Deranged by Nancy Stevens in Glasgow. Her audience in the balmy south enjoyed seeing and hearing about some of the amazing wonders of nature. A December letter from the Chair

Dear Member, Once it became clear that we would not be able to hold our monthly meetings, run a Spring Show, or go on outings, the committee decided not to collect subscriptions for 2020-2021. About half the members were on a email list and we hoped to reach the other members by a message in the Bridport News. Our response to Cllr Bark’s suggestion of a Plastic Free Bridport

 Everyone who replied was in favour of Cllr Bark’s suggestion. The over-riding theme from them was that plastic pots are definitely not single-use plastic.  They are used and re-used for years, “until they fall apart”.  People also used yoghurt/margarine/cream pots/plastic bottles – examples below: A lot of plastic-trays for supermarket fruit and veg are the same size, so the clear trays can be used on top of opaque ones as propagators.
