Groves’ service to their customers appreciated

During the lock-down, Groves Nurseries have been running deliveries to the DT6 and DT8 areas. They are operating with a skeleton staff and, it appears, most of the Groves family. To show our appreciation 60 Bridport Gardening Club members responded to an appeal to fund at least one treat for the hard-working team. On Monday 27th April Groves staff enjoyed a lunch provided by local caterers Hungry Mule while sitting in the sunshine.

Virtual Spring Show 2020 – Children’s Classes – A miniature garden

The St. Mary’s school children’s entry for the miniature garden is, of course, unfinished, because there were no children in school! The week before, the gardening club had made the ‘people’ by sowing cress seeds into an egg case. They then  placed them on the ‘football ground’ made of moss. The Spring Show may have been cancelled but exhibitors had been preparing months in advance. The following are some of the items which would have been displayed.
